About the Founder
I’m the Founder and Programme Lead of The Confidence Lab CIC, with a background in management consulting and many years of experience mentoring and coaching young people and adults.
Alongside my professional career, I’ve supported individuals with confidence, communication, career direction and navigating key life decisions. Over time, I recognised a need to do this work in a more intentional and continuous way — particularly for young people who may not always have access to guidance, networks or belief.
My motivation is personal.
I grew up in a single-parent household following the death of my dad. I didn’t have a smooth start in life, and I didn’t have anyone to explain how systems worked or what steps to take. I had to figure much of it out for myself — from navigating education and work, to building confidence in professional environments that often felt unfamiliar.
Through resilience, determination and learning along the way, I went on to build a successful career working with multinational organisations including Shell, BP, Avon and QBE.
That journey taught me something important: talent exists everywhere, but confidence, guidance and access do not.
The Confidence Lab was created to help bridge that gap.
I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to this work — understanding the systems young people are navigating, while also recognising the emotional and personal challenges that can sit beneath the surface. I know what it’s like to feel capable but unsure, motivated but unsupported.
This work is about making the path clearer for young people — offering the guidance, confidence and encouragement I didn’t have, so others don’t have to figure it all out alone.
